These past few weeks, maybe even months, have been a whirlwind. Meetings, trainings, responsibilities, and the continuous pursuit of growth. And while I deeply value every opportunity to serve, to lead, and to make an impact, I’d be lying if I said I haven’t felt the weight of it all.
This message is as much for me as it is for you.
Rest isn’t something we earn only after working hard.
It’s something we need because we work hard.
W
e often emphasize commitment, discipline, and consistency. But rest? It’s the part we tend to overlook, something we’ll “get to” when things calm down.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how rest plays a role in the way we lead and serve. While passion can fuel us to keep going and even go beyond what’s expected, I’ve come to realize that rest isn’t just for recovery — it’s part of how we stay sharp, intentional, and fully present. It’s not about needing rest because we’re running low, but about honoring it so we can continue giving our best, sustainably.
I’m not sharing this from a place of mastery. I’m sharing it because I need the reminder too.
The goal isn’t just to keep going.
It’s to keep going well.
So today, I’m choosing to pause. Not because I’m tired of the work, but because I want to continue showing up fully present, fully charged, and in alignment with my purpose.
To anyone who’s been pushing nonstop — whether you’re a leader, a business owner, a parent, or simply someone with a big vision — please don’t wait for burnout to teach what balance could’ve prevented.
You don’t have to earn rest.
You just have to honor it.
Let’s choose to rest this week, not as an escape, but as a strategy.
